Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area has formed over Gangetic West Bengal and its neighboring areas, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather agency stated that the cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha has led to the formation of the low-pressure area.
The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height. The IMD predicts that the low-pressure area is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards across Jharkhand and north Chhattisgarh over the next 2-3 days.
