Bhubaneswar: Widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are very likely to occur across Odisha during the next 24 hours under the influence of the Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha & Gangetic West Bengal, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
Thereafter, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall will continue due to monsoon flows, the IMD added. It has issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha for the next three days.
As per the warning, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri in the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Angul and Deogarh on June 15 and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh Keonjhar and Sambalpur on June 16.
The IMD futher informed that under influence of the above low pressure system and due to steep pressure gradient, squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely over North Bay of Bengal adjoining westcentral Bay Bengal off Odisha coast till June 15.
