Heavy Rainfall To Lash Several Parts Of Odisha Till July 25, IMD Issues Alert

Bhubaneswar: The depression over the Odisha coast near Chilika Lake remained practically stationary during the past 3 hours and lay centred at 8.30 AM on Saturday over the same region near latitude 19.6°N and longitude 85.4°E, about 40 km south-southwest of Puri (Odisha) and 70 km East-Northeast of Gopalpur (Odisha). It is likely to move further northwestwards across Odisha & Chhattisgarh and weaken gradually into a well marked low-pressure area during the next 12 hours, stated the midday weather bulletin of the Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Saturday.

Under the impact of the prevailing weather system heavy rainfall is very likely to lash most parts of Odisha till the 25th of July.

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Orange warning (Be Prepared)

Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi,Rayagada, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Yellow Warning (Be updated)

Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Cuttack, Bargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Khordha.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north Odisha and at many places over the districts of south Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated)

Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north Odisha and at many places over the districts of south Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated)

Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 24.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 25.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated)

Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput and Nawarangpur.

Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 26.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 27.07.2024

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
