Bhubaneswar: The Koraput district administration announced the closure of all schools in the district of Odisha for today, in view of the heavy rainfall forecast in the region.
The heavy rainfall warning has prompted the district administration authorities to take this step to prevent any potential disruptions or risks associated with commuting to and from schools.
Earlier, Ganjam and Malkangiri district administration came up with an announcement regarding the closure of all schools for today in the light of heavy to very heavy rainfall alert.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rain to ten districts of Odisha. Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Bolangir and Boudh districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain (7 to 20cm).
