Cuttack: Heavy rains over the past two days have battered several parts of the district. Distressing news came from Nischintkoili where a youth who was out for fishing went missing. The youth identified as Sanjay Rout of Natakei village had gone to Patanali for fishing today afternoon and has been missing since. A search operation is on to trace Sanjay, said reports.
On the other hand, many places under Athgarh block have been water logged. According to reports, two breaches on the Rengali canal in Khanduali village of Radhakrushnapur panchayat led to ingress of storm water. Hundreds of acres of paddy fields have been inundated because of this. The people of the villages fear severe losses owing to crop damage, reports added.
