Heavy Rains To Lash Odisha For Next Few Days

Bhubaneswar: With the cyclonic circulation over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off South Odisha – North Andhra Pradesh Coasts presently lying over northern parts of West Bengal and neighbourhood, tilting southwest-wards with height, a low pressure area is very likely to form over coastal areas of West Bengal by July 26.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur in the next 24 hours.

Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Kendrapara.

On July 26, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Sambalpur. Besides, heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Bolangir and Jajpur.

Likewise on July 27, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh and Kalahandi. Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast and Northwest adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal on July 27 and 28 and whoever are in deep sea are advised to return to the coast by July 26.
