Bhubaneswar: A girl reportedly got her left hand severed after being hit by a ‘Mo Bus’ near Chandrasekharpur petrol pump in Bhubaneswar, On Saturday. Reckless driving of the ‘Mo Bus’ driver is said to be the reason behind the gruesome mishap.
As per reports, the girl was riding a scooter when a speeding ‘Mo Bus’ hit the bike rider behind her. The bike rider lost control and collided with the woman, making her falling on the ground. It was then the speeding Mo Bus ran over the woman’s hand, severing it.
The bus driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident. Locals alerted 108 ambulance authorities who rushed the critically injured woman and the biker to Capital Hospital. The woman’s condition is stated to be critical.
The incident sparked outrage, with locals blocking the Jaydev Vihar- Nandan Kanan Road and holding up traffic. Protesters refused to let Mo Bus services pass through the area, leaving over 15 buses stranded.
The accident triggered widespread chaos, leading to a massive traffic snarl on the Jaydev Vihar- Nandan Kanan route. Vehicles came to a grinding halt as irate locals blocked the road demanding compensation for the victims and action against the absconding driver.
