**Puri:** As the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to take up a slew of developmental works in the pilgrim city, a heritage park at Jagannath Ballav Mutt is a prime proposal among them.
After the important meeting presided over by Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb on Friday, SJTA chief Suresh Mohaptra informed media that a heritage park will be set up on the premises of the mutt in the sprawling 42 acres of land.
It is considered to be the pleasure garden of Lord Jagannath.
According to Mohapatra, the detail design and concept of the park was discussed during the meeting attended by the experts and members of technical committee.
He also informed that a multi-storeyed parking lot for facilitating vehicle parking will also be made. Besides, the renovation of the pond within the mutt will also be made.
The heritage park will contain plantations of various flowering plants and timber which are generally used for daily rituals of Lord Jagannath.
The SJTA chief also informed that the museum on the Sri Mandir premises will be completely reconstructed for which new designs and concept will be prepared. It is in a dilapidated condition.
The interior beautification of the Gundicha Temple will also be undertaken with ‘pattachitras’ of legendary tales and mythology of Lord Jagannath, the SJTA head added.
It was also informed that the beautification of Atharnala and Musha stream will also be carried out.
