**Bhubaneswar:** The dawn-to-dusk Odisha Bandh on Tuesday witnessed a high drama near Master Canteen Chhak adjacent to Congress Bhawan here in the capital city when the deployed police personnel and Mahila Congress activists entered into a tussle.
Male police officials were seen virtually wrestling with some women Congress activists while a senior Mahila Congress leader was seen exchanging war of words with them objecting to their alleged misuse of power.
She protested the way the male police picked up some of the women activists into the police van during the strike.
She alleged that a group of 50 bikers were led by her from Mancheswar area here peacefully when the police without any provocation rounded them up and snatched the keys of their motor cycles.
Later, some male police officers in civil dress intervened and one of them was heard addressing the angry senior Mahila Congress leader as ‘Apa’ (courteously addressing an elder sister in Odia) and tried to pacify her.
Later, the few Mahila Congress activists sat on the road itself in protest against the alleged manhandling and misbehavior of the police personnel.
Ommcom News tried to get the police reactions on this matter, but failed to obtain till the story was filed.
