Puri: A high-level team of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has arrived at Puri on Sunday. The team, led by Additional Director General (ASI), will be inspecting the Nata Mandap’s (the audience hall) structure and stability for necessary repairs, sources said.
The experts will check the risk of cracks in (beams of) the Natmandap of Shrimandir. Besides, a review of the cracks on Garuda Stambha facing the Singhadwar will also be carried out. Whether this crack poses any risk to the structure will be assessed, added sources.
Following the inspection, the team will hold detailed discussions on the maintenance of pillars in the Nata Mandap. The high-level team will comprise ASI’s Conservation Director, and ASI’s Odisha Superintendent.
The ASI team will be accompanied by representatives of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), State Government, and experts during the inspection.
