Cuttack: The City police here on Wednesday arrested one Subhendra Narayan Bhanjadeo (57) on charges of killing his mother Paresh Kumari Devi (76) at their residence in Tulasipur today morning.
The police acted on a complaint of the daughter of the deceased Jayanti Samantray (58) who named her brother in the first information report.
According to the police, at around 8 am today morning, Bhanjadeo attacked his mother with a sharp weapon and killed her. The weapons of offence have been seized from the scene of crime, the police said.
Bhanjadeo (Gopala) is a resident of Sri Vihar area of Tulasipur here. He was staying at a house with his mother and had domestic differences with the family, which triggered the murderous attack, the police said. The Bidanasi police have booked him on charges of murder and forwarded to the court.
