Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today apprehended headmaster of Trishakti high school at Makarguda under Kegaon police station in Kalahandi fro accepting a bribe.
Headmaster Drona Kumar Tandi was caught while he was accepting of Rs 40,000 from a contractor for clearing the running bill over the construction of new building of the school.
Tandi directed the contractor to deposit the bribe money in his bank account. After depositing the amount, the complainant handed over the counter foil of deposit slip of Rs.40,000 to the Head Master.
When the Vigilance officials reached the school, Tandi swallowed the deposit slip on seeing the anti-graft team. At the same time, on verification of the cell phone of Tandi, a message was found to have been received in his cell phone regarding credit of Rs. 40,000 deposited in shape of cash by the contractor.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Tandi from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance registered a case U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018. Investigation is in progress against accused head master.
