Koraput: B.Singhpur police in Koraput district today arrested a high school teacher for allegedly making a girl student of his school elope with him.
According to B.Singhpur police, the Assistant Teacher of Champapadar High School under Borigumma block Subrat Tushar Ranjan Mallik was arrested from Ratnagiri village under Bari Ramchandrapur police limits of Jajpur district and forwarded to court today.
Mallik had allegedly eloped with a girl student of the Champapadar High School. The girl student after appearing in her Class X board exam at Katharagada High School on March 20 did not return home.
He was arrested after the girl student’s family lodged a complaint with B. Singhpur police.
He has been charged under sections 363, 366(A), 376(2)(N) of IPC and sections 506 and 6 of the POCSO Act.
