Bhubaneswar: A workshop on NAAC Accreditation, NIRF Ranking, Autonomy status Academic Audit, etc was organized today by State Higher Education Counsel at Rama Devi Women’s University here on Wednesday. The workshop was inaugurated by Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo.
Addressing the gathering comprising Vice-Chancellor, Principals, and IQAC Coordinators he stressed on the need for radical changes in Higher Education system in the state to make it students-centric. Though there have been many positive reforms in Higher Education Sector, but many things needs to be done, he said.
Everyone, from top to bottom should involve themselves constructively and think out of the box. We should develop a team spirit, he urged. There is a need of imbibing a positive work culture and innovation to succeed, he added.
Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Saswat Mishra urged to make the Higher Education system Teaching & Learning-Centric. Higher Educational institutions should transform keeping in tune with the changes, in order to remain relevant. Vice-Chancellor, Rama Devi Women’s University, Prof Aparajita Choudhury gave the welcome address on the occasion.
Prof Susmit Pani, Prof Atanu Pati, Prof Mrutunjaya Suar, Prof Ashok Das presented extensively on rules of NAAC Accreditation, NIRF, Innovation & Incubation Centre, Academic Audit, and Institutional Development Plan. The participants had interactive sessions with the authority on various issues.
Vice-Chancellors of State Universities, Prof Aparajita Choudhury, Rama Devi Women’s University, Prof Sabita Acharya, Utkal University, Prof Sanjay Nayak, Ravenshaw University, Prof Geetanjali Dash, Berhampur Univesity, Prof Santosh Rath, Fakir Mohan University Prof. Kishore Kumar Basa, North Odisha University, Prof Sandeep Mittal, Sambalpur University, Prof Arka Das, Mohapatra, State Open University, Prof Sanjay Satpathy, Kalahandi University, Prof Kamal Jit Singh, MS Law University were present and participated in the workshop.
Principals of Autonomous Colleges, IQAC Coordinators also participated in the last session in which Sahoo and Mishra interacted with them on the status of NAAC Autonomy, IDP, etc. The Principals shared about their college and feedback was collected for future policy intervention.
