Bhubaneswar: The district of Sundergarh witnessed the highest single-day spike of 83 cases in the last 24 hours. The total affected in the district rose to 554 with 185 recoveries and one COVID-19 related death. The active cases count in the district stands at 368.
Out of 83 cases reported, three are COVID warriors from Sundergarh. Two of the newly detected are currently at a COVID hospital in Bhubaneswar and another 14 are from TMC Sundergarh (contacts of previous positive), said a tweet from the official account of the district collector.
23 returned to Rourkela from outside State and 22 are contacts of previous positive identified through contact tracing at BPUT, four are COVID warriors at BPUT, three pregnant women (vulnerable people testing) and two are local contacts.
