Hindi Film ‘12th Fail’ Made GST Free In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government has announced to make Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s cinematic gem, ‘12th Fail’, GST free in the State.

The Finance department confirmed it through an official statement. The department posted the development on X handle.

In the Statement, the government declared to provide tax benefit to promote the movie for the greater interest of society and to encourage the public to watch it in theatres.

The order will remain in force till March 31, 2024.

“Government of #Odisha notifies reimbursement of SGST to the theatres / multiplexes of the State for screening of #Hindi movie #12thFail directed by @VVCFilms”, the Finance department stated on X.

The Hindi movie ’12th Fail’ is based on the real-life story of a boy from Chambal, who aims to crack UPSC examination and become an honest police officer.
