Bhubaneswar: The Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Hindol in Dhenkanal district was caught by officials of Cuttack Vigilance on Wednesday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.
SDPO Malaya Kishore Nayak was caught red-handed near Karanda Chhak. He had demanded the said amount from a stone quarry owner to facilitate stone quarrying and transportation.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted on properties of Nayak at six places in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sambalpur districts. Investigation in progress.
