Dhenkanal: The Sub Divisional Police Officer of Hindol who was arrested by the Vigilance on Wednesday was produced in the Court of Additional District Judge-cum-Special Judge (Vigilance) here today. The SDPO, Malay Nayak’s bail plea was rejected following which he was sent to judicial custody.
On Wednesday, the Vigilance sleuths caught Nayak while he was receiving a bribe amounting to Rs 30,000 from a stone quarry owner. Responding to media persons while being taken to the court, Nayak said he was innocent and has been ‘trapped in a conspiracy’. The cop would be produced before the court on June 7, reports stated.
