Bhubaneswar: The Hirakud Dam has opened three more sluice gates following the rise in the water level of the reservoir. Presently, excess water is being released through seven gates.
The water level in Hirakud reservoir was at 629.54 feet at 9 AM today. 1,77,691 cusec water is entering the reservoir while 1,44,228 cusec water is being released through the gates.
As informed by the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) the water level is rising in six river systems across the State.
At 9 AM today, Brahmani was flowing at 174.20 metres at Panposh; Baitarani at 35.52 meters at Anandpur; Subarnarekha at 45.88 metres at Jamsholaghat; Vansadhara at 81.08 metres at Gunupur; Rushikulya at 13.30 metres at Purushotampur; and Jalaka at 05.97 metres at Mathani.
