Bhubaneswar: The authorities at Hirakud dam reservoir opened four more sluice gates today as rains continued to lash the upper catchment areas of Mahanadi river. With this, the flood waters are being released through a total of 24 gates.
Till 9 am today, the inflow at Hirakud was 4,35,303 cusec of water while 3,49,498 cusec water is being released. The water level in the reservoir was 616.91 feet i.e. around 50% of the reservoir capacity.
