Sambalpur: Hirakud Dam will be releasing this season’s first flood on July 23 (Sunday) at 9.00 AM.
According to a public notice issued by the Additional Chief Engineer, Hirakud Head Works & Additional Spillway, Burla following rain in the upper catchment of Hirakud Dam, the water level in the reservoir is continuously rising.
“This is for the information of all public residing downstream of Hirakud Dam that this season’s first flood will be released from the reservoir at 9.00 AM on 23/07/2023. This will cause a rise in the water level in Mahanadi and its distributaries. Therefore, while entering the river and for other use caution has to be maintained. Hirakud Dam authorities will not be responsible for any accident,” the notice in Odia reads.
