Puri: A person was killed and three others injured in a hit-and-run accident at Nuahaat on Satasankha-Nimapara Road in Puri district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Prabhakar Behera, a resident of Baligaon under Pipili police limits.
According to reports, he was riding his bike with his family when the mishap occurred.
He died after being hit by an unknown vehicle while heading to catch a bus for a picnic to Chilika with relatives. His wife and two children were with him. While Prabhakar died on the spot, his wife and children were severely injured and rushed to Sakshigopal Hospital.
Subsequently, locals have blocked the road in protest, demanding action against the driver responsible for the mishap.
