Bhubaneswar: The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) of the Odisha government on Friday approved eight transformative industrial projects with an investment of Rs 32,736 crore.
The HLCA, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, approved the projects during its 39th meeting held in Bhubaneswar on January 19, 2025. These projects, spanning sectors such as chemicals, green energy equipment, shipbuilding, repair, and steel, are set to generate employment for over 18,688 individuals.
This was the second HLCA meeting this month, held ahead of the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Conclave. The approved projects are distributed across Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Sambalpur, and Bhadrak districts, underscoring the state’s commitment to balanced regional development.
“These initiatives will generate 18,688 jobs and boost Odisha’s industrial growth across sectors like chemicals, green energy, shipbuilding, and steel. As we prepare for #UtkarshOdisha 2025, these approvals bring us closer to realizing our vision of #SamrudhaOdisha2036. Together, we are building a sustainable and prosperous future for our state,” said Majhi in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The HLCA meeting also emphasized Odisha’s focus on innovation and sustainability. These initiatives are expected to have a transformative impact on the state’s economy by attracting further investments, promoting green technologies, and creating job opportunities.
