Holi Turns Deadly As Three Minor Boys Drown In Separate Incidents In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In tragic turn of events amidst colourful celebration of Holi, a 17-year-old boy drowned in a pond while ta bath after celebrating the festival of colour in Salipur area of Cuttack district on Tuesday.

Two other similar kind of shocking incidents have also been reported from Paradip of Jagatsinghpur and Soro of Balasore district.

In the first incident, one Asis Kumar Das of Chhanipur village under Salipur police station of Cuttack met the watery grave while bathing in a pond in the village. Asir, a plus two student, was taking a dip in the pond with other friends after Ha celebration. He slipped into the deep water and drowned. Locals rescued him and immediately took him to nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Another minor boy also met similar fate at Katakula village under Lock police station in Paradip.
Similarly, a minor boy named Ansuman Patra, also drowned while taking bath in a pond after Holi celebration at Dahisada village under Soro police station in Balasore district today.

Villagers fished out him from the water and rushed him to Soro hospital where doctors declared him dead.
