Home Guard Aspirant’s Death In Gajapati: CM Majhi Announces Rs 4L Aid

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi declared an ex-gratia payment of ₹4 lakh to the family of a home guard aspirant who died during a physical test in Gajapati district today.

The deceased candidate has been identified as Sulanta Misal, hailed from Parisal village under Ramgiri police station.

According to reports, the physical test was being conducted at Betaguda in Ranipeeth, and the candidates were participating in a 2-kilometre run from Ranipeeth to Padmapur. After completing the run, Mishal suddenly collapsed and fell to the ground. Despite being rushed to the Parlakhemundi Hospital, he was declared dead by doctors.

The Chief Minister has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced compensation from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide support to the deceased’s family.
