The deceased candidate has been identified as Sulanta Misal, hailed from Parisal village under Ramgiri police station. The critically injured candidate is P Shankar, who is undergoing treatment at the Parlakhemundi hospital.

According to reports, the physical test was being conducted at Betaguda in Ranipeeth, and the candidates were participating in a 2-kilometre run from Ranipeeth to Padmapur. After completing the run, Misal suddenly collapsed and fell to the ground. He was rushed to the Parlakhemundi Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.

Shankar and two other candidates, Arpana Pani and another unidentified candidate, were also admitted to the hospital after complaining of similar health issues.
