Bhubaneswar: A home guard job aspirant died while undergoing a fitness test in Chhatrapur of Ganjam district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Shibram Pradhan, a resident of Tulasipalli under Tarasingh police limits.
According to reports, Pradhan fell ill during a sprint segment of the fitness test. He was immediately taken to the Chhatrapur Sub-Divisional Hospital and subsequently shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur after his condition deteriorated. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed during treatment.
In the aftermath of the incident, Ganjam police suspended the ongoing recruitment process. The Ganjam Police later issued a notification stating that a fresh date for the fitness test would be announced in due course.
