Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed grief over the deaths of two Home Guard aspirants during a physical test in Gajapati district and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to their families.
The deceased have been identified as Sulant Mishal from Parisal village in Gajapati and Dipak Padalu from Rayagada.
According to reports, Mishal collapsed during the physical examination and was declared dead at the district headquarters hospital in Paralakhemundi. Dipak Padalu, who also fell sick during the recruitment drive, was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital but succumbed to his condition while undergoing treatment.
The Chief Minister announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased.
