Bhubaneswar: With an increase in temperature, hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail in Odisha till May 17. The regional meteorological centre has issued yellow alerts for several districts for the next four days.
For May 14 weather prediction, hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
Besides, the IMD has predicted thunderstorms with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati and Ganjam for May 14.
As per IMD prediction for May 15, hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
For May 15, the IMD has forecast thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in several Odisha districts. In the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 km/h are likely to occur in the afternoon or evening hours at isolated places. Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 30-40 km/h are expected in the afternoon or evening hours at one or two places in the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Nabarangapur, Kandhamal, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Cuttack.
