Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heat wave and hot-humid in several places across the State during next two-three days.
Due to prevailing dry conditions in the state and strengthening of north-westerly dry winds in middle & upper level of the atmosphere, maximum day temperature is likely to be above normal by 3-5°C at many places in interior parts during next two- three, IMD bulletin stated.
Consequently, maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is likely to remain between 44 and 46°C at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha with isolated severe to heat wave likely conditions over some districts of Odisha.
The weather agency further forecasted hot and humid conditions over coastal Odisha during next three days.
The coastal and adjoining districts are likely to experience thunderstorm activity from June 1 due to the establishment of a north-south trough.
People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during the peak hours of the day time between 11 AM and 03 PM during the next three days.
