Berhampur: The Baidyanathpur (BN Pur) police on Wednesday arrested a house surgeon for allegedly assaulting an MBBS girl student of MKCG Medical College here.
The accused identified as Supan Kumar Padhi allegedly bit the girl student on her hand and cheek. The victim lodged a complaint at the Baidyanathpur police station over the incident.
“Prima facie it appears that they were in a relationship. The girl is studying in the 4th-year class of MBBS and the boy is doing his internship as a house surgeon. The boy and the girl had an altercation over some issue and the boy (intern doctor) bit the girl on her hand and cheek. The girl has been medically examined. The accused identified as Supan Kumar Padhi has been arrested on charges of misbehaviour,” informed Sravana Vivek M, Superintendent of Police, Berhampur.
