Bhubaneswar: A review meeting of Urban Local Bodies of Balasore , Bhadrak , Keunjhar and Mayubhanj districts was held at Balasore today. Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, G Mathivathnan chaired the meeting.
Senior officials reviewed the progress of various schemes in all ULBs and also compliance of National Green Tribunal (NGT) strictures. Stakeholders present at the meeting were directed to adhere to the timelines. Mathivathnan warned officials to stick to 5T initiatives failing which Administrative action will be initiated against the defaulters.
The progress in implementation of JAGA Mission, Construction and Operationalisation of Micro Composting Centres and Material Recovery Facilities in ULBs, Revenue Generation, Smart Street Lights, Water supply position and Livelihood Mission were also reviewed.
A target was set against each activity for the effective implementation of the schemes and programmes.
Emphasis was given on internal revenue generation to make the ULBs self-sustainable. Stakeholders were instructed to utilise the funds and submit utilisation certificate at the earliest. Sanitation and Land Right certificates were discussed at the meeting.
All Collectors were requested to take the stock of the situation at their level and initiate necessary action. Director Municipal Administration, Sangramjit Nayak, Additional Secretary Kalyan Kumar Rath, Joint Secretary Pravat Kumar Mahapatra and Deputy Secretary Sarada Panda attended the meeting.
