Bhubaneswar: Here is good news for commuters in Odisha. According to reports, the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express is likely to run from May 15.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off the semi-high-speed train from Puri railway station in a virtual mode. However, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are scheduled to be present at the Puri railway station during the flagging-off ceremony.
The East Coast Railway (ECoR) authorities are likely to make an official announcement in this regard.
The trial run of the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express was completed on April 28.
During the trial run, the train had two-minute stoppages at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khurda between Howrah and Puri. The Vande Bharat Express will run between Howrah and Puri with fewer stoppages.
