Bargarh: Hrusikesh Bhoi, who enacts the character of King Kansa in Bargarh Dhanu Yatra, has been suspended from his service as a Mahaprayan vehicle driver in the Health department.
Bhoi was accused of demanding Rs3,000 from a grieving family to transport a deceased body from Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital to Bahala village in Gaisilat block. The family paid the amount and lodged a complaint against Bhoi before the Chief District Medical Officer Nirupama Sarangi. Based on the complaint, Sarangi to issue a show-cause notice and order a departmental inquiry.
The inquiry committee found the allegation true while Bhoi failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions. As a result, the CDMO suspended Bhoi on Tuesday.
