Bhubaneswar: As many as five persons, including two minors, sustained burns due to a fire cracker explosion at Yedu Sahi and Majhi Sahi in Raygada town late Tuesday night.
The incident occurred during Bhogi celebrations by the members of the Telugu community. They were celebrating Bhogi, a key part of Makar Sankranti, when a sudden fire broke out where the firecrackers were stored. The explosion sparked panic in the area.
Subsequently, locals rushed the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital. As the condition of the victims deteriorated, they were referred to Visakhapatnam for further treatment.
