Bhubaneswar: The Housing & Urban Development Department celebrated the 79th Independence Day with pride and patriotic fervour at the UNNATI Bhawan premises.
Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, H&UD Department, unfurled the National Flag and addressed the gathering, highlighting the department’s commitment to public service and citizen welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, Padhee said, “Independence Day is not only a time to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters but also a call for each of us to rededicate ourselves to the service of the people. Together, we will continue to build vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable urban spaces for Odisha’s future.”
Arindam Dakua, Director of Municipal Administration, senior officers, and staff of the department were present on the occasion. The celebration was marked by a spirit of unity, respect for the nation’s heritage, and a renewed pledge to contribute to the State’s urban transformation.
