Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development department Minister Pratap Jena along with Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das today visited the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) & Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) at Basuaghai, Bhubaneswar.
They went around all the components of STP such as the Inlet, Screen Chamber, Aerated Grit Chamber, SBR, Chlorination House, Chlorination Contact Tank, Sludge Dewatering Unit, checked the quality of water at the point of CCT(Chlorination Tank).
The coverage areas of Sewage Treatment Plant is Bramheswarpatna, Gopaluni Pokhari, Kotitirtha Road, Laxmisagar, BJB Nagar, Bhimpur, Kunjapatna Sahi, Radhakrishna Nagar, Ratnakar Bagh, Pandav Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Megheswar Colony, Raja Rani Colony etc. After the site visit to STP, dignitaries inspected the laboratory located inside the STP, where the required facilities and equipments are kept for testing and all the parameters of wastewater have been checked on daily basis and also discussed about the progress of household connections for wastewater. Then visited the FSTP and enquired about the process of the septage water treatment.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of WATCO PK Swain welcomed the dignitaries and briefed them on both the plants. Among others Sarat Chandra Mishra. MD, WATCO, Subendu Kumar Sahoo, Deputy Commissioner, Sanitation, BMC, Arun Kumar Nayak, City Engineer, BMC, Bharat Chandra Dalai, General Manager, WATCO, Gautam Dash, Executive Engineer, BMC and other officials of WATCO and BMC were present during the visit.
