Bhubaneswar: Odisha Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra travelled on Mo Bus to review the city bus services in Bhubaneswar, on Wednesday.
The Minister took a ride from Master Canteen Square to Gadakan bus depot on the bus after purchasing a ticket.
Mahapatra was seen interacting with his co-passengers apart from inquiring about measures being followed for the safety of passengers during emergency. Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) Managing Director Arun Bothra was among the co-passengers who accompanied Mahapatra.
After assuming the charge as the Minister of Odisha Housing and Urban Development Minister, it was the first ride for Mahapatra on Mo Bus. On this occasion, the Minister urged the employees of Mo Bus to behave properly with passengers to avoid untoward incidents.
During his travel to Gadakan depot, Mahapatra announced that 400 electric buses will be added to the public transport fleet shortly to give a boost to clean mobility.
“Mo Bus is Ama Bus. It is not possible on our part to know the problems faced by passengers if we don’t take a bus ride. We will hold discussions with fellow passengers to know their problems. More buses will be operated on routes where people mostly rely on bus service. Besides, plans are afoot to launch bus services on those routes where bus service is not available in the city. Our government will add 400 e-buses for the convenience of passengers”, said Mahapatra.
