Bhubaneswar: Acting on a tip-off, Odisha Vigilance Department sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on the residence and office of Bhanjanagar Additional Civil Supply Officer Sanjay Kumar Sahu on charges of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to his known source of income.
The raids were conducted simultaneously on seven properties linked to Sahu, a former Assistant Civil Supply Officer, Kamakshyanagar in the Dhenkanal district
The simultaneous searches are being conducted by 5 DSPs, 12 Inspectors, and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal, in Khurdha, Ganjam, and Mayurbhanj districts.
Vigilance sleuths are conducting the searches at the following places:
- Residential house/ Flat vide flat no 304, Block-G, Type 3BR on third floor De-Habitat-2, at Shree Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- Flat No 601, 6th floor, Khetrabasi Residency, and K-Plaza, Patia-22, Bhubaneswar.
- A house at Housing Board Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- A rented house of Sahu at Bhanjanagar town in Ganjam district.
- The office room of Sahu at Bhanjanagar.
- A house of Sahu located in his native village Pandarsila under Raruan police station limits in the Mayurbhanj district.
- At plot No 1782, Khata No 26, 1781, Khata No-26 located at Naharakanta in Bhubaneswar.
The Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday unearthed two 3-BHK flats, one building, 3 plots, investments in insurance policies worth over Rs 16.86 lakh, gold jewellery weighing 200 grams, one Honda City car along with other assets during searches on properties linked to Sanjay Kumar Sahu, former Assistant Civil Supplies Officer, Kamakshyanagar in Dhenkanal district and A/p-Additional Civil Supplies Officer at Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district of Odisha.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sahu and his family members.
- 3-BHK Flat No 601, 6th floor, Khetrabasi Residency and K&K-Plaza, Patia-22, Bhubaneswar.
- 3-BHK Flat No.304, Block-G at De-Habitat-2, Shree Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- One building at Housing Board, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- Three plots in and around Bhubaneswar.
- The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above flats/buildings/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
- One four-wheeler (Honda City car) worth Rs 13.19 lakh.
- 2 two-wheelers.
- The searches are continuing and a further report is awaited.
