Jeypore: A major tragedy has been averted as a huge stone fell on railway tracks between Manabar and Jarti station in Koraput district. The incident occurred due to a landslide which forced Jagdalpur-Vishakhapatna Express to halt at Koraput station.
The railway technical team swung into action and started restoration work. Train movement on the route was hampered following the landslide on the track.
Meanwhile, Railways canalled six trains on the route while short terminated four other trains, Waltair railway division (Visakhapatnam) informed.
