Bhubaneswar: The skull and bones of an unidentified person were recovered from the forest below Kotamani hill under Sorada police station in Ganjam district. Along with the remains, the police also found two mobile phones and a half-burnt shirt, as well as a pant shirt, at the scene.

The discovery was made when a local resident ventured into the forest to collect firewood and stumbled upon the human remains. He immediately informed the local sarpanch, who then intimated the Sorada police station. Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene and recovered the remains.

Preliminary observations suggest that the remains may belong to a male individual, as the bones were found in a pair of men’s pants. However, the police officer emphasized that the complete identity of the person and the cause of death will only be determined after a thorough investigation by the scientific team.

The police are currently investigating the case and are working to establish the identity of the deceased and the circumstances that led to the death.
