Bhubaneswar: Odia singer Humane Sagar’s wife Shriya Mishra on Sunday held a press conference in which she shared her ordeal in the wake of her husband’s alleged alcoholism.
According to Mishra, the torture started after the birth of her daughter. “Whenever I stopped him from consuming alcohol, I had to face his wrath. I kept mum because of his dignity and reputation,” she said.
“I advised him to hold his drinks as it was affecting his career and health, but he paid no heed to my words.”
“I want him to be mentally and physically health she should respect me and I am waiting for January 30.” The couple is currently staying separately over their marital dispute. Mishra however dismissed any form of religion-based torture.
“Though they did not like me putting sindoor or bindi, my mother-in-law never barred me from observing my faith. However, any family would wish their daughter-in-law to observe and practice their faith. This is quite natural,” she added.
She further alleged that a third person is disturbing her marital life and urged media persons to find her out.
Sagar on the other hand denied all allegations and said that those were baseless. He expressed his wish for a compromise.
