Bhubaneswar: The death of renowned Odia singer Humane Sagar has taken a new turn after Arpita Choudhury, a fellow singer, and Somesh Satpathy, a music director, have approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail.

The move comes after Humane’s mother, Shefali Suna, filed a complaint at Markatnagar police station alleging that the duo, along with seven others, was responsible for her son’s death.

According to reports, Shefali, in her complaint, accused Arpita and Somesh, among others, of physically and mentally torturing Humane, leading to his demise. The complaint also alleged that they had financial motives behind their actions.

It is pertinent to mention that Humane Sagar, known for his soulful voice, passed away on November 17 while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. His death has sent shockwaves in the Odia music industry.
