Balasore: Hundreds of people congregated at Bahanaga in Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday, the 10th day of the horrific three-train accident that claimed at least 288 lives on June 2 organised a memorial service and all-faith prayer meeting for those killed in the accident.
Residents of Bahanaga and several social activists participated in the memorial service being held for three days near the Bahanaga High School. Several locals, volunteers, and social activists gathered at the venue to pay tributes to the departed souls. Many of the participants shaved their heads and conducted ‘mass mundan’ as per Hindu rituals.
‘Biswa Shanti Maha Yajna’, ‘Astaprahari Nama Sankirtan’, and ‘Akhanda Gayatri mantra’ will be held on the 11th day of the accident on Monday, and a ‘Satsang’ and candlelight march on the 12th day on Tuesday.
