**Dhenkanal:** A 14-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by a shopkeeper and his aides in Surapratappur village under Bhuban police station here in the district on Saturday morning.
As per the deceased’s family members, the minor boy had gone to the shop to eat some snacks. After eating when he was asked to pay for it by the shopkeeper, he could not. He had previous dues as well following which the shopkeeper made a video of the child where he is seen forcing him to admit his deed. Later, the shopkeeper and some of his aides allegedly beat the minor to death near their house.
The victim’s family alleged that they found the child unconscious and rushed him to their place but the minor succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Meanwhile, the shopkeeper has alleged charges of theft on the boy.
After getting information, Bhuban police reached the spot and seized the body. They are investigating into the matter.
