Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre incident, a woman severely injured her husband with a vegetable cutter on Sunday for refusing to give her a mobile phone. The incident has been reported from Keserkela village under Pukutla police station limits in Odisha’s Bolangir district.
According to reports, Eshwari Kumari has been demanding a mobile phone from her husband Ganeshwar Suna for some time now. However, Ganeshwar failed to fulfil her demand. On Sunday, the couple had a fierce feud over the issue and eventually, Eshwari picked up a vegetable cutter from the kitchen and attacked her husband while he was asleep at night.
Later, Eshwari fled the house along with her four-year-old daughter. The villagers rescued Ganeswar, who sustained deep injuries on his head and hand. Ganeshwar has been admitted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.
Ganeshwar and Elshwari Kumari of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh were married about six years back and they have a four-year-old daughter.
