Bhubaneswar: The Nuapada Police on Sunday arrested the husband and mother-in-law of a woman police constable in connection with her death.

The duo has been forwarded to court.

The deceased, identified as Rukmani Nag, was found hanging from a tree branch near Nuapada Police Station on Saturday. Locals who spotted the body alerted police, following which it was brought down and sent for post-mortem examination.

According to reports, the constable had circulated a video message to several people hours before her death, claiming she was under constant “torture” from her husband and in-laws, which drove her to take the extreme step.
