Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for dehydration, has been discharged after full recovery.
A special doctors’ team treating him advised his discharge, and he returned home on Wednesday night.
Patnaik expressed gratitude to the people of Odisha and hospital staff for their good wishes and care.
“I am grateful to the brothers and sisters of Odisha who prayed for me when I was ill. I would like to thank all the people for their blessings and the hospital for the great care they took. I am completely fine now”, Patnaik told reporters.
Senior BJD leader Sanjay Das Burma said Naveen Patnaik was discharged after the doctors’ team advised it. He had recovered well, but doctors kept him under observation for two to three more days for complete recovery. With the blessings from Lord Jagannath and the people’s wishes, Patnaik recovered well and is now fine. He returned to Naveen Niwas.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge spoke to him over the phone, wishing him a speedy recovery.
