I-T Officials Seize Rs 2 Crore Cash During Raid At Businessman’s House In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Income Tax (I-T) officials on Thursday seized around Rs 2 crore during a raid on a businessman’s house in Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, the I-T officials raided the house and printing press of a businessman named Ranjit Jain at Budheshwari Colony in the Laxmisagar area of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday and Thursday and seized the amount and several flex banners of a political party.

Earlier, GST officials raided the printing press premises and stumbled upon the huge amount of cash stashed there. They informed the matter to the I-T department the latter began its raid around 10.00 am on Wednesday.

As the businessman failed to offer a satisfactory account of the cash, the I-T officials are currently interrogating Jain and his family members.
