Malkangiri: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) will conduct serological survey in Malkangiri municipality to determine the prevalence of anti-bodies against novel Coronavirus among the inhabitants, the district administration informed.
The ICMR-RMRC Bhubaneswar has planned to start the sero survey randomly from selected households from the 19 wards of Malkangiri Municipality. The process of collecting samples will continue for two days, October 6 and 7. On October 8, samples will be collected from high risk groups identified by ICMR scientists.
The ICMR-RMRC has deputed teams including Research Assistants, Technicians to take up the survey. Five teams have been constituted involving staff of Municipality, Health Department and other line departments to carry out the survey.
The district administration has urged the locals to cooperate with the teams during the sero survey.
